I bought this last year and they still look new! Yes there are marks on the inside of the caddies from pencils but otherwise they held up amazingly. I don't know what type of plastic it's make out of but all similar products are remarkably damage resistant.

These caddies are good for so many craft and other ideas and can be differentiated easily in the bright colors. Would highly recommend.
