How are houses designed? What shapes do you see in buildings? Our engaging building center teaches kids to look closer at real-life designs—and make original homes that use the same important elements! Created to encourage open-ended building with minimal teacher involvement, our center includes 8 photo cards showing actual buildings, plus tons of hands-on manipulatives that invite children to build, explore and engineer—again and again! For easy reference, the back of each photo card explains key elements for each design—so it’s easy to guide children’s learning. You get 130 geometric, interlocking plastic pieces and 8 photo cards. Center comes in an 11 1/2" plastic storage tub; longest building piece measures 4".

Wonderful for stem

My students in Kindergarten used the cards for sometime, but now want to do it on there own. They are creating some really great houses.

Great hands on learning tool

My kinders and firsties love this center! I just really wish there was a way to reprint the cards. Unfortunately since they are cardboard and I didn't laminate them the students have completely destroyed them all and now all I have are the blocks.

Fine Motor Skills and Shapes

It took the children a couple of tries to learn how to snap the pieces together, but now that they have learned how they are enjoying playing with the pieces. They are talking about shapes as they create.

Perfect for a building center!

My kindergartners love these tiles so much so that they usually build everything except houses! Keep in mind that once you open the box you will never be able to fit all the pieces in and close the lid, I had to buy a larger storage container for them.

Engaging, but storage is an issue

My kindergartners love this center when I put it out although they don't always build houses, but that is my fault with not setting clear expectations It is fun to see what they come up with. My only complaint is that there is NO WAY for all the materials to fit back into the box at all. I need to get a larger plastic container for it because it is a mess now.

somewhat disappointing

We purchased this product for ages 3-5+ years. The produce advertises that it is for this age group. We found that the 4/5's had a very difficult time putting the pieces together and lost interest quickly. Therfore I would not recommend for 3 year olds. Older 5's and up would enjoy this product. I would recommend building with these one on one or as a small group project with a teacher or parent. The other problem is the container is way to small for the amount of peices. You have to purchase another bigger container to fit all pieces, very disapointing. I would reccomend this product for 5 and up.

Hours of learning while having fun. Our 6 year old loves designing and building his own structures.
