These are bigger than you think and very fun to put together. There are fewer pieces than I thought there would be, so only about one 4 or 5 year old can work with them at a time. However, for toddlers, several can work with them, since they don't build as elaborate of creations. They are somewhat flexible and just have a fun feel to them. If I had to choose between these and the Clip and Create Builders, I'd get the Clip and Create Builders, because there are more pieces with them and more children can play at a time. These Slot and Build Texture Shapes are still fun, though.

I purchased these because they looked suitable for both my 3 year old---who is very interested in building with manipulatives---and my 13 month old---who is very interested in exploring objects by placing them in his mouth. Oh, how I wish I would have spotted these 3 years ago! They would be perfectly suitable for an infant to handle and explore with both hands and mouth. They are very sturdy and would be perfect in a group care situation, very durable, and easy to clean. I also love when toys come with a container in which the set can be easily kept together. Very pleased with this purchase.

Even my kids who did not usually play with manipulatives found this product entertaining and fairly easy to put together in various ways. Originally purchased for the 2 year class but my 3 year olds really enjoyed it.
