Perfect for preschoolers and up

December 15, 2022 - By Kristen Amonfrom Oklahoma City, OK

This sand has lasted my large home childcare 6 months! I love the natural color and texture compared to other sensory sands. The stickiness helps the kids not get overwhelmed trying to keep it in the sand table. We've used it with dino skeletons, sea shells, forest animals, and farm animals. It will be a regular item for free play from now on! It is played with by children 2 and up- even my own teenagers like it.

Yes, I would recommend this product.

Moon Sand, not kinetic sand

May 18, 2021 - By Artemisfrom San Francisco

I love having moon sand and kinetic sand in my play therapy supplies. A feel of flour that stays together when you press it and crumbles easily. (although I'm not too sure if this castle pictured is really achievable). But it does offer a different texture and consistency to kinetic sand, which is nice when you want to introduce a variety of sensory experiences.

Yes, I would recommend this product.

It smells really funky.

October 11, 2017 - By Mom209from Yuba City, CA

So we just opened our tub of mold & play sand and it smells very funky. Both of my kids noticed it right away. If it didn't smell so weird I would give it a 5 star.

What a great project. We are using it for our older adults for arthritic care and our younger adults with disabilities for quiet activities. Great company also. Great customer service.

Great alternative to regular sand

January 18, 2015 - By Homeschoolmommyfrom St. Louis, MO

I have a sensory table for homeschooling that I put various materials in, but since it is indoors I have always resisted using regular sand because it can be so messy and hard to clean up. This sand is a great alternative! For one the kids can mold it and use all kinds of rollers and cutters which helps with fine motor skills, but also because it "clumps," it is much easier to contain and clean up when there are spills. We have had ours for a year, and it is still as good as new. I keep it in a tightly closed container when not in use which I would recommend.

Yes, I would recommend this product.

Best Sand Option

September 01, 2012 - By Lpetersonfrom Seattle, WA

My kids love playing with this sand! I bought 3 trays from Lakeshore and each kid gets to play with their sand the way they want. It shapes easily-my daughter especially likes using the cupcake molds we purchased (also from Lakeshore). It's a hit on playdates and entertains kids from 20 months-5+ years old! It doesn't dry out, lasts forever, doesn't stick and get everyone super sandy.

Yes, I would recommend this product.
