When first placing this order, I was excited to find some magnets that the children could use showing polarity until I received them. These magnets are so weak that they barely clung to each other. When pulling them out of the original packaging I knew there was a problem when I could easily slide them a part. I could live with a weak magnet but these were ridiculously weak. I had no other choice in my mind but to return them. I was very disappointed with this product.

Magnets were used for a STEM class on magnetism and electricity for 3rd, 4th and 5th graders, were perfect for safely demonstrating magnetic properties, field was strong enough to show lines of force in iron filings.
We used these today to demonstrate north and south poles while attracting iron filings and they did wonderfully! Some other teachers had "regular" magnets, but they did not show the obvious polarity that these did! I highly recommend! Thank you!
These magnets are much stronger than the weak ones often found in a science lab. The weak ones are just right for use with compasses to map fields. But for the iron filing viewers I bought, their increased strength is just right to make the experience convincing in 3D.

I was a bit disappointed that the magnets were not as strong as I had hoped. However, they were very visual so the students could easily see which end was north and which was south. This helped them understand attract and repel.
