Besides the informational content, the visual content will appeal to the youngest learners and the magnets give them a chance to use fine motor skills with less mess. Can't wait to use these!

My students really loved this set when we had it out during our insect unit. I put the cards out on various small magnetic boards I already had and put the insect magnets in the middle and the students had a great time finding the pieces they needed (sometimes negotiating and waiting their turn if the same piece was needed for another card) and sticking them to their card. The magnetic aspect really does increase the student interest in this center activity. Also, this activity really helped the students grasp the three main science learning goals we set out of (1) understanding various life cycles, (2) differentiating spiders from insects, and (3) noticing the common body parts of insects.
