As children explore and examine our fascinating science specimens, they’ll feel just like real scientists making incredible discoveries! Students simply use the magnifier in each center to investigate 5 amazing specimens—from a colorful peacock feather and a stag beetle to a super-realistic replica iguana skull. Then children explore the corresponding photo cards to learn even more about each animal…as they study the full-color photos on front and learn the exciting facts on back! Plus, each center focuses on a different animal class…so students learn to identify the characteristics of each one. Each center comes with 5 real or replica specimens, 5 cards, a magnifier and a guide. Complete set includes all 5 centers shown, for a total of 25 specimens and 25 cards. Cards measure 5 1/2" x 7". Each center also available separately.

My two preschoolers were fascinated to look at different specimen. We talked about it and they like to look through the magnifying glass and pretending to look for fossils etc.

Good, but price/shipping is too high
July 14, 2016 - By Scoutfrom Decorah, IA
My third graders will love these hands-on tactile items. Touching, feeling the weight, texture, color, all is so much better than a picture in a book. Two areas of caution: the skulls are too fragile for normal kid handling--that will have to be a look, touch, but don't pick up item. Secondly, the price and shipping is very high. If I hadn't been given a grant to buy science materials, my students would never have been given the opportunity to learn from these kits.
Yes, I would recommend this product.

Great for animal studies

These animal boxes are beautiful.
I wish you had one for the amphibians.
Also wish someone would make animal skulls inside of acrylic blocks to make them more durable. I am going to try to encase them myself.
Thank you
