Bought this on a whim for my Girl Scout troop, so glad I did! It's nice and chunky for our little Daisies tiny hands, but interesting enough to capture the fascination of even my Cadettes (middle schoolers). I appreciate the strap, in case I want to leave room in the backpack. It's easy enough for the kids to operate by themselves, I can just let them loose in the park, remind them of our Leave No Trace principles, and they have a blast putting all sorts of leaves, bits of moss, tree bark, bugs, etc in it. Unlike a microscope, the bug gets to run free after!

i would definitely recommend this! We put all kinds of bugs into the removable magnifying cup and place it on the base. kids love to see the bugs up close

Our 3 year old loves this magnifying glass. He’s very keen on outdoor things and finding the smallest insect or plant. We’ve developed a habit of going out each day and collecting things to put inside and see them much bigger. For example, the leaves have tiny hairs he never knew about, it it really creates such amazement in his young mind.
