My 4 year old is learning to write and recognize her letters. This is great for her to practice each letter. Although it is not the same as actually writing the letter, it helps her to recognize them. I got another lakeshore item that helps the writing process. The quality is amazing, as is everything we have gotten from lakeshore. I'm positive my 2 year old will use it too.

Lakeshore is usually a great company, but the quality of this is just embarrassingly bad. First, not all the pieces magnetize properly, so you can't, for example, make Q without part of the loop popping open; second, I bought the starter set AND the class set, and that STILL doesn't yield enough pieces to make the whole alphabet!? It costs $200 if you'd like to make the whole alphabet; otherwise, you run out of pieces at W. I bought these for my special needs 3 year old who has loved letter since he was 18 months and badly wants to write them. Unfortunately, he has a neurological condition where he can't. I thought these would be great for him, and he LOVED them until he realized we couldn't actually make the whole alphabet. I wish I'd tried these solo before giving them to him because now he wants to finish them (despite them not even sticking properly), so that's another $50 starter set just to finish the last 4 letters. Glad I didn't use this as a Christmas gift.

My students love the magnetic letter builders! I bought this for my students who could benefit from more letter identification practice and they loved building the letters for practice!

I teach 4 year old preschool and this goes hand in hand with our hand writing without tears curriculum. The kids love it! It is well made and will last a long time.

Purchased this product for my 4 year old. He started playing with it a soon as we got home he absolutely love this. He's a big fan of magnet tiles and this just added the alphabet.

I use these at the beginning of the year in Kindergarten. The pieces are chunky and light so they are easy to manipulate and a fun way for children to build letters.

I showed my grandson these magnetic letters and he loved building his name. He said I need the big sticks, the small sticks, the small curved sticks, and the big curved sticks. I love the large size of the letters. Any unique way of making learning letters fun for kids is for me.

I’ve found that building these letters with their own hands gives some of my struggling students a dimensional visual that really helps their little minds remember what the letters look like and aids in memorizing the alphabet
