Pattern Blocks
Pattern Blocks provide hours of enjoyment and learning for children of any age. The vibrant colors and shapes are attractive and sturdy. If used with the pattern boards- they help children match shapes and colors. These blocks are tremendous for teaching math. The hexagon is twice as big as the trapezoid. Three trangles fit on the trapezoid so 6 fit on the hexagon . You can learn about acute and obtuse angles as well. My fifth graders made fabulous artistic patterns with theses blocks just for fun. Your kids will love these versatile pattern blocks!

from Orange CountyI was delighted when I came across this product online. It is the same as the one I bought forty years ago for my children. As a former teacher I am wholesale 'into' the Montessori hands on learning style. Initially we used the blocks for free form art; discovering how shapes and colors fit together and what creative patterns could be derived. From my three year-old daughter I saw her, independently, construct a geometric flower. Math concepts came later and reinforced early education math concepts. I'm so pleased that my grown children can now share this wooden set with my grandchildren. Hands on learning is the best!!

Perfect for free-play and for learning! I consider this a staple in my homeschooling. My boys use this to make patterns, learn shapes, build geometric robots, and learn basic fractions (a triangle is 1/6 of a hexagon).

Children can create fantastic designs with these wooden blocks. At the same time they are learning about shapes and angles and the relationship between the shapes. These blocks make it easier to explain math concepts. At first young children learn the shapes and colors and there are materials where you learn to fit the pattern blocks into predesigned pictures. The real fun is watching children make their own designs. My fifth graders loved making designs with these shapes.

My 7 yo grandson loves these! There are endless possibilities--play alone and make beautiful designs, play with another and try to duplicate what your friend has made, think outside the box and build 3-D!

These wooden pattern blocks are much better than the thinner plastic version. The wooden blocks can stand up. I use them for active learning math time and also available at center time for imaginative play.

I ordered these for my grandson, who is on the Autism spectrum. He is highly functioning, but he is struggling with math. No sooner did he have the out of the box, but he created his entire family with them. If there was a way to share the photos of his immediate creations, I would. They were exceptional! What a joy to see him so happy!
