This is such a great journal. My 2nd grader loves it and it has helped her explore her love for creative writing while learning story elements, advanced vocabulary, and punctuation. Her teacher is considering using the book as part of her writing curriculum.

I love the format and writing prompts of this journal. The topics are engaging and relatable for early writers.

The prompts seem to be mostly about school, I was hoping for more creative ones. If I had purchased in store and flipped through it first, I would not have purchased this.

Our kids who have become averted to writing, love the format and prompts in these writing journals. We find that drawing the picture first makes them want to write the accompanying story. Reading their stories along with the pictures they’ve drawn is a fun family activity.

This writing prompt journal was very helpful for me as a teacher and my students as well. Each page provides an spot for the student to draw a picture, which also provides a prompt for writing. I will definitely purchase these journals again.
