I love the step by step daily writing process. This is also scaffolded to provide maximum support in the begining and then tapered off as the students move through their journals.

I use these during small group instruction. I like how they cover a week of writing. I add other items such as drawing or art depending upon the topic.

Great teaching tool

I got this for my reluctant and disorganized writers. They feel less overwhelmed with the writing process by doing 1 or 2 sections a day and seeing how the sentences fit together to form a paragraph. This journal has helped them feel more confident that they can write a paragraph following this basic structure.

It’s a good practice book.

This is great. It’s also helpful for reluctant writers. I can already see a huge improvement in my son’s hand writing and spelling. He’s completing his sentences, amazing.

Used this when my so was struggling In writing. He fussed about more homework but in the end it worked.I’m seeing him apply the strategies used in his writing outside of this spiral.

I thought this would be great for my kids to learn how to formulate paragraphs. Unfortunately, they found it too boring. Doing one tiny section a day just doesn’t seem very productive for this kind of topic.

Perfect for an introduction to the genres of writing. Highly recommend!
