Students learn to instruct, inform and persuade through writing—with nonfiction tiles that guide young writers through the process! Children simply sequence the beautifully photographed tiles right on the mat—then use the pictures to help them write a nonfiction passage with a clear beginning, middle and end. Each tile even has a word bank on back to help children get started! Includes 10 sequencing mats and 10 corresponding sets of tiles. With 50 tiles in all; mats measure 5 1/2" x 14".

Great for 2nd through 5th grade

We use these story tiles at home to strength their writing skills. These are great for ages 7-10 years. For the younger kids, they may need an adult to prompt them, but it really helps build their skills. For older kids, they can add more details to their story. I love how it forces them to organize their thoughts, and it also teaches them spelling because the key words are on the cards.
We have both the non-fiction and the fiction tiles, and my 9 year old likes the non-fiction better. Great investment.

Encourage your students to write!

I have taught 2nd grade for many years. This is one of the best instructional tools I have ever used to improve my students writing skills! It teaches them how to write in a logical order and provides suggested words for students to use on the back of each card that the child them uses in their own sentences. Outstanding!
