I am a retired elementary teacher who helps my 2nd grade grandson with homework and studying. This is an excellent book of warm-ups for me to share with him. The articles/stories are interesting and intelligently written. The questions refer well to the passage just read and also are teaching tools themselves. An example is asking a question about synonyms, with which my grandson was not familiar. The question contained the definition of synonym so my grandson learned that he was able to correctly answer the question without knowing how to pronounce synonym and without ever having learned its meaning prior to reading the question.
