What I was looking for

I had a language arts kit that my kids were sharing word tiles. These are the same quality and I like the capital letter on backside for grammar lessons.

Has worked great for my 5 year old! I use for letter recognition, learning how to spell words, matching uppercase with its lowercase letter (we have 2 sets), etc. They are very sturdy, love it!

Fun Ways to Build Words

I used these word tiles this week and my kids loved them! I used them for spelling words and Map vocabulary words. All levels of students loved it. It's really nice to have the vowels and consonants be different colors and to have multiple letter tiles. My kids requested these tiles so they could have fun learning. It also helped me to assess where some of my students needs help with blends and letter sounds when breaking down words. I highly recommend.

Hands-on

Love all the tiles. Made of sturdy, thick cardboard-type product. Wish they were plastic, but still seem good.

The tiles are OK, but I would like to find tiles for the 35 sounds we speak, consonants, vowels, special vowels, and digraphs.

Great for small, guided groups!

These are the only letter tiles I could find with upper case and lower case letters on the same tile (front/back). I find the upper and lower on two separate tiles is too cumbersome when working with primary-age children. I use them as part of my mini-lessons (Kindergarten-first) with small groups for letter identification, phonics, word families, making words and more! The tile is made of a very stiff cardboard. When used with supervision it is not a factor at all. If used independently by a child the cardboard could be a problem IF the child was intentionally destructive, sucking or biting the tile, etc. Bending it would be possible, but difficult. Most letters have 2 tiles (vowels 3). But there are a few with only one tile. I would pay a bit more for the set if each letter had at least 2 tiles- and the most common ones had 3.
