I like how the vowels are red and the consonants are blue. I use these in my first grade classroom to build cvc words, and words with short vowels, blends, digraphs, etc. I wish they were a bit larger for whole group instruction, but this is the only size available in red/blue lowercase.

I have this set and the jumbo letters set. This set is too small and the jumbo letters is too big. You have to be right on top of the board just to see the letters. I was hoping to use these on the Double-Sided Magnetic Write Wipe Board, but these are too small. I do like the idea of making vowels and consonants. I like that they are plastic, so the hold up under rough kids.

The magnetic letters are used in small group instruction. Students are asked to find the corresponding letter for a given phoneme. Also, words are spelled out and phoneme substitution are given and students manipulate the letters. Just grand!!

I have letters from an inexpensive brand and these are hands down much nicer. I threw away the old ones and we are only use these now. Sturdy and solid pieces.

I bought these for my 4 yr old despite having wooden non magnetic letters like these. these are strong, durable, and attractive. my 4 yr old payed with these 1st day for almost 45 mins along with magnetic pictures also from lakeshore. I recommend
