Appreciate Lakeshore's easy-to-use self-sustaining materials! Mix up the pieces, put it at a center, and the kids work to identify their short/long vowel sounds independently or in pairs. My kiddos have had a rough time distinguishing their vowel sounds this year, so I was thrilled to see this new match-up set. The only drawback: some of the pieces don't fit as tightly as puzzles usually do, so the kids think their answers are wrong (with the set I bought, anyhow).
