My first grade students love this game! They are always excited when it's available during independent work time. There are many different word cards which is nice and I often take out the phonics patterns we haven't learned yet and then add them in/change the cards for the game as we learn new things. It's also a great game to practice taking turns, waiting, and manage disappointment if students get a splash card.
