My 5 year old granddaughter likes puzzles the Sound it out word puzzles attracted her attention right in the box. She was able to read all 12 words. Color coding of letter vowels and consonants was helpful.

The students love working with these puzzles! I like that they have blends and vowel combinations.

The pictures are cute, the cardboard used to make the puzzle pieces is thick. My 4 year old love to use the puzzles, as we try to sound it out together and spell the words correctly. The only thing I do not like about the puzzles, is that the "male" parts of the phonic sounds pieces are very thin and narrow, and could easily break, even though the pieces are thick. It would have been sturdier if the "male parts" of the puzzle pieces were a bit larger. I have the feeling that in a classroom full of vibrant kids, the pieces will break easily, and therefore will make it impossible to fit the pieces together.

The complete set of sound-it-out puzzles are perfect for first graders! My students love working on these puzzles during center time. It is very hard to find puzzles that pertain to these particular skills and I was pleased to find them. The special puzzle cut-outs make it easy for students to match the pieces and this allows for them to match a picture to a word that they have put together.

I loved using these cards for my kindergarten students who were ready to start building and spelling bigger words.

These phonics puzzles are wonderful for practicing blending. The consonant blends are highlighted, which i love and the picture clue keeps them from being too challenging.

I use the puzzles to introduce the concept of blending sounds to kinders. The picture supports them at this beginning stage.
