These cards work well with the pen, which my daughter is a big fan of. However, the images on these cards are dated and not terribly clear. Do young kids today all know what jacks are? No. Or the difference between a coat and a jacket? That’s tough. Does a 4-5 year old know to call a fork, knife, and spoon utensils? Maybe some do, but I’d guess a lot don’t. My daughter could probably identify a vest if it looked like the puffy ones she wears in the fall, but not the button down, dress vest pictured on the card asking her to identify the letter v. Please consider updating these images, Lakeshore.

I keep this activity in my writing center and the children love to play, independently with this activity!
