Perfect for hands on learning

I used this with my own children and with my students. It is so versatile to work on so many reading skills. The colors differentiating the consonants, vowels, etc. were very helpful. Highly recommend.

Great magnetic set

I love the phonemes, great for teaching reading! One improvement would be with some directions with a sequence for introducing the sounds, meaning which one to teach first, then subsequent sounds. The board is great too because it’s dry erase so you can write in letters as well as use the magnetic individual letters or phonemes.

Thank you! I couldn't find this anywhere else. This is exactly what I needed and wanted to help homeschool my boys. We are having fun blending sounds with these kinetic and visual helps.

A great product. Colour coding of spelling patterns pieces is very helpful to students who need decoding practice.

Perfect for teaching spelling

When I purchased this product I was primarily interested in using it as a tool for phonics. But I got more than I was expecting. My six year old grandson is learning to spell words as well as understand vowels and their different sounds in words. This product is a great teaching resource for early elementary students.

Good for spelling, phonics, rhyming, etc

Lots of tiles to work with - like that there are common sound combination tiles in there as well (SH, sp, etc) as well as a lot of ending sounds to add multiple beginning sounds to work on rhyming. A great set, worth the price.

My first grader loves these, and so do I!

Of all the things I have bought from Lakeshore for our homeschool, this product gets the most use. I use these almost every day with my first grader. These go great with the all the different phonics curriculum we use. I used these to teach blends and digraphs, vowel combinations, and word families. I am looking forward to using these for teaching prefixes and suffixes. My fourth grader also likes to build words with these. To make the magnets easier to use, I suggest sorting the different letters, combinations, and word families into a divided container. I use a bead organizer, with 30 compartments.
