Great interactive workbook

This is a fun way to review beginning, ending and rhyming sounds. My daughter loves cutting and pasting, so this keeps her attention much better than other workbooks with written activities only. I highly recommend this, especially for children who have difficulty keeping attention on workbook activities.

Good Addition to Phonics Lessons

i have used this product for the past two years in my first grade classroom. I like it because in addition to the phonics practice it gives the kids, it has the cutting and gluing elements thay give them extra fine motor practice.

Good practice, lots of prep

It was a good resource if the children you are working with are good at cutting and glueing. It can be time consuming if you don't get it ready ahead of time

This ESL teacher is in LOVE

Holy cow, I absolutely LOVE these interactive journals. They are great for my ESL students to work on as a group. We use these all the time and my kids will reference it when they are writing. Between this and my sound wall, they have grown by leaps and bounds! I will also add that in the example it shows the words that they have on that activity rewritten. We don't do that. I make them think of more words that they can use to build up their vocabulary.

I bought these for my second grade students that were a little behind on some of their phonics skills due to online learning in the spring. These journals are really a bridge between first and second grade phonics skills. It has been a bit of work teaching students how to use them, however, now that they understand how they work I find them to be perfect for practice in the morning once a week. They are certainly not enough on their own but work great as a supplemental activity.

I'm sure this could be a helpful activity for a struggling reader, but I just didn't really like this. After looking at the preview images on the product page, I thought that each tab would have a different set of colored pages. I didn't realize *all* the pages were going to be purple/white. I think I would have preferred just black/white. I also thought some of the pictures they would cut and glue would be color images, but they are all purple/white. The instructions are pretty simple and things are organized fairly well in this book. However, the cut-outs pages don't have any reference to the tab/section they belong to. They are just labeled ''Activity 1'' or ''Activity 8'' up through ''Activity 10'' over and over. I will say that on the instructions page, they do give a visual reference of what students are supposed to look for in the cut-outs section, so that helps. It seems to be of very good quality physically, but there is little variety in the activities for each section. Each section has 10 activities, but there are only 2 *types* of activities per section. Activities 1-5 are the same activity, just with different words. It's a good concept, but I don't think any of my students would be particularly excited over this product.
