I thought these would be great for kindergarten because I thought they were more like decodables. But they either have words that are tougher than they can read because we haven't done those phonics patterns or they are pattern books which I was trying to avoid. They're beautiful and high quality books, but they were not what I was expecting.

I purchased these books for a 6 year old boy who is struggling with reading. They have helped him enormously and we have only just started to work with them. They have helped to build his confidence in reading and recognition of sight words.... allowing him to be come a brave reader! The smile on his face when he completes a book without mixing up words is priceless! I am not an educator but I do wonder why certain word families are not present in the series, that is the et family, the it family , and the en family. I am sure there is a reason for it , my curiosity has gotten the better of me and would love an explanation... unless they are just missing from my box set. Anyway kudos to you, you have made a little boy very happy!

These are fantastic. The pictures help the child decode the word, and the repetition really helps build confidence level in beginning readers.

The readers are helping me teach my student how to read in sentences. She is use to just saying one word, not forming sentences. This is helping her.
