Took my 1 year old to Lakeshore for his first time to explore. He put his hands on a variety of things but when he found this box he grabbed it and headed right off to the door as fast as he could. He kept returning to them while we were there, so I took a closer look, thinking of all the ways he could enjoy such a simple toy, and bought them. Do not regret. He still loves this toy (even more outside the box!) While, like the another reviewer stated, he usually can't get them lined up to close, he loves bring to me so I can guide his hands to close them. Such joy! He does sometimes manage to close on his own but, either way, finds as much joy from opening them and trying again. I also love hiding things inside for him to discover and they are great for stacking. I actually love that there's one element or more (closing them and stacking them) that are still a bit of a struggle for him, not only because he still has room to grow and use these in new ways but also because of the pride he feels when he does manage to do something hard. It's a great skill, perseverance is, to start practicing young. ;)

My daughter loves this toy. It is perfect for building tower and perfect for breaking. So much fun when she destroys it. They easily break. Also when she knocks two pieces with each other it makes loud noises. She plays it since she was 5 months. Now she is 10 and still loves them. Now it is super fun to throw an egg and see it breaks.

I did not love these since they were too hard for my granddaughter to open (she is 1 1/2). The only one she did not have trouble opening was the smallest one. They are pretty cute, though.
