Bought this to be able to teach our grandson how to play chess. Thanks to the move cues, he has really picked up the game. This has led to hours of fun problem- solving skill building. I would highly recommend this game.

I’m a retired educator of 40 years experience and as a retiree, I am enjoying going back to address holes in my education. One of those deep holes was never learning chess. The other day I was babysitting for some friends, and their son in the first grade asked me if we could play chess. I I said I would be glad to, but that he would have to teach me. He pulled out the learner’s set from you with the moves marked on the back of the pieces, and we had a wonderful game. I was so inspired, I went back home and ordered two sets, one for me and one for my granddaughter. It is direct experiential learning of the best kind, and I keep the set out on our coffee table to practice moves and continue to learn, as well as playing games with my own family members. My daughter learns chess and wanted to buy this for her friend. It's a fabulous set for beginners - kids and adults, as each piece has a little description of how it can move (to remind you of the rules). This makes it easy to approach and less intimidating.
