Bought this for the kids and nephews' Christmas gifts. The register is sturdy and the money looks close enough to real that the kids shouldn't have any difficulty recognizing legal tender IRL. With my 10-year-old, we talked about facing the bills (not handing the customer or cashier a wad of random bills) and how to use the calculator to figure out tax and change. It IS a calculator, so the machine won't round to the nearest cent, but you can use that as a learning opportunity.

I bought this because me daughter was sick during the money unit at school and was struggling with memorizing the coins. It has been great for both money practice and playing grocery store. It would have been nice if there were four slots for the money, but it would have been much bigger that way.

I purchased 2 for my grandsons who are 5 years old and they love them. Great gift and is great quality.

My kids have really enjoyed the cash register and it has helped them learn about cash and coins. My only issue is that the paper money will get destroyed easily. I laminated them to fix this issue.
