This doll is exactly what our church was looking for!

I know this doll says for ages 2 and up, but our library has this doll and the others of different races. All the children in the story-time for ages 14-22 months want to hold these dolls. My grandson won't let it out of his arms, gently hugging it and checking on it. I like that the clothes could come off, but the style doesn't really encourage that. These are meant for loving and snuggling. What a great tool for teaching compassion.

Newborn/preemie baby clothes fit this doll. My 2-1/2 yr old grand daughter likes her dolls naked and prefers to remove their attire rather than put it on them. Another year or two, perhaps, until she's ready to clothe them. Having just returned from visiting her in Germany I became aware that her German dolls are not gender neutral, but clearly male or female. Why aren't the US dolls gender specific?
