Students really love figuring out how the place value works by studying this place value posters. I have it stapled to the wall about 2.5 feet from the floor. They sit on the carpeting in front of it and skootch to the right to learn about unit fractions and unit decimals or skootch to the left to learn about larger numbers. I teach grades 1st - 5th and all are finding the patterns in our Base 10 system. Most have discovered the pattern for writing exponents, too! I haven't used the other posters in this set, yet; but the place value ones are definite winners!
