Our daughter got this ATM bank when she was 7 for Christmas. We had some bills and change in another box for her to learn how to deposit. She has her own card with a pin number and the bank is locked. The balance keeps the money on target including change. We are very impressed with this bank and told many parents/grandparents to get this because it's so much fun to use and watch the money add up. We have gone to the bank with this over the years and the cashier dumps the change into the machine to count her money. It's always correct on the display, so that is impressive. The bank employees would smile and giggle when we she would take her bank to empty it out. She is now 14 and has saved up $ 1,000 with her own dog, mowing yards, and craft businesses to really save. Now she comes in with higher bills in the ATM bank to deposit money for her savings and checking accts. She's saving for a used car and college. The cashiers are no longer giggling, but working hard to put her money in the correct accts. She puts her receipts inside the bill storage at the bank for safe keeping until she puts them with her special files. Great product and we will buy one for our grandson coming in Nov. so he can grow into as well and save his money. Get a bank for a child, so they can really learn the value of saving money in a fun way.

This ATM seemed so cool but its functionality is a bit disappointing. PROS: It keeps a running balance which is very motivating for kids to save money and watch their savings climb. It also has some cool features like the automatic coin recognizer that will add the coins inserted to the balance. CONS: Don't forget the PIN!!! It is very difficult to reset or to open if you forget the PIN. Losing the ATM card is less of a big deal; you just need to insert something of equivalent thickness (like two credit cards). Coins sometimes get jammed and then you have to take apart the entire machine, screws and all, to get them out or to be able to insert more. And lastly, though the machine automatically recognizes and counts coins, it does not automatically read dollars. You have to manually add the amount deposited, which works fine but detracts from how realistic it seems. Also, this is probably obvious, but it has no way of counting withdrawals since you just open the drawer and remove money. So, the running balance is only as accurate as the child's manual accounting, which is to say it tends to be not at all accurate.

this is great if you're looking for something to help your kid spend and save. it has goals that you can set to keep your money spent well, and its super fun to insert money and see it name how much. you can watch your money build up while playing!

We have had it since last December. The coin part of it has worked hard since the get-go. Ok, fine, I will help to puah them in. But now a coin got stuck and there is nothing you can fo to take it out. I even opened up the back of it to see if I can retrieve it. Nope. So took it back to the store and got it switched out. Now keeping my fingers crossed.

A favorite for learning about money. highly recommend!

We gave this to one grandson for his birthday and he loved it. The other grandson saw it and asked for it for his birthday and now he has over $100 saved!

This atm toy only worked for a few days. Every time you hit withdraw it resets and takes you to the screen to enter date and time you can’t get money out of the bank it causes alot of stress and disappointment

My grandson was excited in the beginning learning and saving his money and then he was so disappointed the ATM just stopped working, This product is too expensive to just not work anymore

Although I love the concept of this toy to teach about money and saving, this product is very primitive. There are no separations for different types of paper money or coins and the person depositing or withdrawing money has to do the math in their heads. The machine does not count the money either so if someone has a little brother who takes all the money inside the machine, the machine does not track that money. It is essentially a piggy bank so if that is what you are looking for then it is good.

This was circled in the catalog by our 9 yr old grandson.. We thought it might be too young for him- but he quickly set up his PIN#- added some cash and is keeping track of his money! A great way to help kids with their savings. Thank you.

This is a great piggy bank that allows kids to learn about goal setting and saving to reach goals. The storage is a free-for-all and therefore can cause a little chaos when opening it to retrieve money. But overall my boys love it.
