My daughter absolutely loves this kit. It seemed a little expensive for bits of cheap wood, small nails, and some glue, but considering I wasn't going to saw up little pieces of coordinating sizes it was well worth it. She has made both projects using the instructions included as well as several designs of her own. It comes with a LOT of wood; it seemed like she'd use it up quickly but she has made a lot of projects and there still is plenty left. The only thing I needed to add were a couple of wood clamps; it gave a little more flexibility to her designs. The box that holds the pieces could be a little bigger; unless you carefully stack and fit all the pieces they do not fit back in the box easily until you've used up half of it.

Folks, I feel your prices are a bit excessive but I’m sure the grandson will benefit.

This was a terrible and a waste of my money i would give you a 0 but thats not possible i give you a 1

Absolutely love this gift, and so does my daughter!

We’ve been using these woodworking kits for our program, and while they serve a purpose, there are several ongoing issues that make them frustrating to rely on. First, the cost is already quite high and recently increased by another $10, which makes it harder to justify given the inconsistencies in quality. Some of the wood pieces are simply too hard for younger students to hammer into, which takes away from the accessibility and enjoyment of the activity. The most persistent issue, however, is the glue. In about 9 out of 10 kits, the glue arrives completely dried out and unusable. While Lakeshore has been helpful in replacing the glue when we reach out, the delay creates a real problem - we’re often left with incomplete kits right when we need them for class. At this point, we haven’t been able to find better alternatives for our woodworking program, so we feel stuck continuing to use these overpriced and inconsistently complete kits. We’re hoping for improvements, because the concept is great, but the execution needs to be much more reliable.

My first grader immediately built 3 projects with very little help. Great intro to woodworking!

I bought this for my 6 year old son who loves to build things. The kit came with everything he needed and was simple enough for him to do with a little guidance from us. He loves looking at the creations he made!

My great grandson was excited to start building. Unfortunately the glue did not hold anything together for long and trying to hammer the nails in was extremely difficult for him, me and his grandmother. The nails kept bending. The hammer that came with the kit was of no real use. We still had issues using a regular hammer. He has now totally lost interest in the kit. I am disappointed to say the least.

Perfect gift for my grandson. We were able to spend a few hours of priceless time together. A memory I know we will never forget. Very easy for little ones.

Both my grandkids loved this kit. However we had to pre-drill holes so hammering would be easier. That is my only complaint. Grands are 8 and 6, and once we predrilled holes they were busy building for hours.

Fun project to do together with my grand kid. I recommend this product

I got the Build-It-Yourself Woodworking Kit for my nephew, and he’s been loving it! It’s a great way for him to get hands-on and creative. The instructions are easy to follow, so he can work on it mostly by himself. He’s really proud of the stuff he’s made so far. Overall, it’s been a fun and rewarding experience for him. Definitely a cool kit for any kid who likes building things!
