Wonderful addition!

I have been increasing the variety of wood blocks for my young grandkids. These are most welcome, and they add shapes and colors and even more imaginative play to the other blocks I have purchased from Lakeshore over the last year or so. The kids are engaged with them for hours.

One of the best additions to a block center

Purchased these to go with my grandsons wood blocks. As an early childhood educator, I knew these would last for a long time because our preschool classrooms have these and they have held up well over many years of block center play. They are also excellent to use for science activities. Let children use flashlights to create colored shapes on a wall or put small animals behind the blocks and shine flashlight to create shadows.

Kids love them, fragile

They do break if a hard enough impact, but the kids love them and they add more possibilities to the unit blocks.

A whole new experience for block play

The window blocks give a new experience to the block area. The children love the concept of building with the ability to look through the creation.

Window Blocks are great for the imagination!

I bought Window Blocks for my grandchildren and was not sure whether they would like them. I loved playing with blocks when I was their age and older. As it turns out, both of them - ages 6 and 8 - couldn't wait to build creative houses. Because I had also bought Magna-Tiles, they used both the Magna-Tiles and the Window blocks together and extended their houses to add walls, patios and driveways. It was wonderful to watch!

Add lots of play value to blocks and science

Our kids love adding these blocks to buildings for windows and "decorations." They fit perfectly with the other unit blocks, so they just get integrated right into the building process. We had some several years ago from a different company; most of those ended up coming apart at the corners, but we haven't had any problems with durability with the Lakeshore blocks. We also have used them in our science center for color viewing and color mixing, as well as on a light table.
