This wooden elevator is a nice slow to play with accessory for the block center. Natural in color and a red turn knob at the top draws the attention of the child where to focus those hand movement fine motor skills. The grooves are very small so it will take time to watch the item you place on the elevator move from bottom to top. This is why I call it the calming block center tool because it’s not fast action by any means! Would be nice if they made an alternative elevator so it moves faster to compare, but still serves a purpose. The kids know to turn cars on the side or the wheels make it roll off. We usually put play people, animals, or blocks on this and the elevator will lift them from the ground to a second level shelf to play.
