We have enjoyed the magnetic gears this year! We have gears that the kids play with on the floor that operate in a very similar way. Pulling these out later in the year and having th kids work with them on the board while standing vs sitting works different core muscles and visually is very different. The only down side is some of the gears slide as they are on the board when combined in a series--too much pressure...so wish they were a little bit stronger magnets on back, but overall, excellent and fun for all styles of learners and creators.

We added these to a magnetic wall and the kids love them! It prmotes fine motor development and cognitive thinking in our 2-4 year olds.

I purchased The Turn and Learn Magnetic Gears on sale. From ages 2-4 it was a fun part of our magnetic play, not so much at age 5

My kids love to create with these gears. They love the magnetic quality and the various designs they can make with the shapes and colors!

I purchased the Turn and Learn Magnetic Gears for my granddaughter. She LOVES it! It's so much fun watching her play with them. The colors are bright and she loves getting the gears to turn and to see how many at the same time. Great product!

This learning toy doesn't fit the creativity bill for extended or repeated play. The gears do not turn especially easily when joined together - the spokes have to be positioned just the right way/distance from their neighbors in order to achieve the domino effect of movement. The huge magnet train pictured in the product sample photo would be completely impossible to make move in reality. You can really only get a train of perhaps four or five going, where all of the gears will actually turn when wound. On the positive side, the pieces are bright, sturdy, and fun to look at. It's better suited to just be a tactile activity for a one- or two-year-old than a true learning activity for an older child.

This is a very good product and very durable. I liked it so much when I bought the first one I bought a second one for our experience center.

My preschoolers love these. They play with them in our science center.

We have this set on our dishwasher and our 21 month old loves to spin them and pluck them off and play with them on the floor as well!
