It is easy-to-build design and is sturdy. It is appropriate for age 3+

This has been a great hit w my grandsons! So much so that I am purchasing a second set so that they can enjoy designing robots together!

This was the very first thing I brought for my granddaughter from Lakeshore and she still pulls it out to play.

Our son was 4 when we first purchased this gear bot, and he loved it right away! He soon decided he would create his own designs, and he had to problem-solve, hold his frustration when certain gears worked against each other, and delay gratification by trying over and over as needed. It's been a fun outlet for his creativity and love of building!

My son got a Gear-bot as a gift. He loved it!! But then his little sister accidentally dropped the remote and it stopped working. I contacted Lakeshore to see if we could buy a replacement remote. I was told that wasn’t an option but that they would give me a 10% discount on a whole new Gear-bot. My son has even tried building robots without the gear box but the pieces are designed so that the head won’t fit. I was really excited about this product and I think it had a lot of potential. Unfortunately, the lack of replacement parts or ability to build robots without the motor have made it more frustrating than fun. A quick search of the internet shows we’re not the only ones who have had this issue. It’s been really disappointing because it had so much potential. I don’t recommend if you have more than one kid, unless Lakeshore can offer a replacement remote.

I purchased this for a friend's child for his birthday. He absolutely loves playing with this robot. It forces kids to use their imagination, something that using a tablet or other mobile devices doesn't encourage. It also helps kids with understanding right and left.

We love the Gear Bot and use it in our Discovery Lab with our K-4 programming. It is easy for little hands to build and control. Our students love using it and earning their rover license!

My 8 year old kid loves this. He can create different robots and know that each gear has to touch so that it moves correctly. Bonus that it's a remote control car. I love the creativity this toy brings out in him.

I bought this for my 5 year old grandson and am so impressed with the quality! There is no other toy like this one with its turning gears, bright colors, remote control, durability, and just plain fun! Even the adults had fun with it! Highly recommend.

This robot was always my 4 yo’s fave when we went into the store. She kept asking for it for Christmas but it was sold out in store a few times. So glad I was able to get it for her. She absolutely loves building her robot and controlling his movements with the remote. I like how she has to really think while building it before she can use the remote. Very fun and engaging.

Great robot toy for younger children.

I bought one of these for my 3-yr old grandson and then bought one for his 4-yr old cousin. It is a winning combination of a building toy and remote control one.
