I ordered this set for pick up as a gift for a toddler in my family. When I got to see them in person, I was delighted to find that the pieces were larger than I imagined they would be based on the picture. There're many sets of build it yourself toys like this, but these ones are the first I've seen that seem truly suited for young kiddos just beginning to use tools functionally.

We purchased this for our 2 3/4 year old grandson, and he went right to it, using the tools and manipulating the hardware to disassemble and re-assemble the dinosaurs. We were rather stunned that he had the refinement of motor skills, but the parts and pieces are little-hand friendly. His 6 year-old sister readily took an interest in this toy as well, and they played very nicely together, sharing the figurines and the tools between them. Parent approved, too (mom's an engineer)! A great gift for the young, busy dinosaur lover in your life!

When can young children get to use a cord-free drill? With this toy they do! They so enjoy putting these dinosaurs together and taking them apart. A one needs to have a container just for these figures to keep all the parts in one place.

My little 4 year old loved this although it will be hard to keep track of these little pieces. Also, the shipping charge was crazy high! Free shipping would make me order much more from Lakeshore.

If you like Dinosaurs and interactive want to build it play, then this is cool. My grandson (who just turned 4) was drawn in by tools that respond like big people tools. He could hardly wait for it to come out of the box to get started. It held held his attention for longer than a minute. I don't understand taking it apart and putting it back together time and time again, but he did and he is who counts.

It is great! It is sturdy, well built. The 3 1/2 year old it was purchased for was excited to learn to take it apart but a bit frustrated that it would take some effort to put it back. Excellent learning experience. I like the fact the child will need longer than 2 minutes to figure it out.

Using the tools to fix the dinosaurs! Everyone needs help, on occasion. Great imagination builders for young fixers. Tough stuff!

My grandson loved this birthday gift. It was received timely.

One of the best toys I bought ever for the grandkids. They constantly play with these toys. Have not lost their novelty after a few weeks. I keep these in a separate box so the pieces would not get mixed with other toys. Now I like to buy them again for the other set of my grandkids.

This encouraged my little one to use problem solving skills, as not all pieces fit together.
