I did find that the sewing was outside of our daughter's focus level. But, a big plus was that I, as a mom who has never sewn before, found this to be a fun and cathartic learning experience. Our kids watched me complete this project with determination. I had to follow directions that weren't very specific, retry, redo, and come up with creative solutions. I would recommend this for older kids, kids with strong focus skills in general, or as a parent led activity. I personally needed to buy extra embroidery cotton for the third stuffy because so much was used on the practice first 2.

I purchased this for my 7 year old. She was really excited to find the white body material wasn't just felt like a lot of other similar projects. It's soft like a traditional stuffed animal. The nose and horn are felt, but she was okay with that. Overall it was a good challenge for her. The stars were a little too tricky for her skill level.
