Students will have a bushel of fun with these easy-to-make classroom decorations!

This activity is appropriate for:
preschool - 2nd grade / 3 - 7 years

You will need:

Preparation

  1. Cut out simple leaf and stem shapes from green and brown construction paper.
  2. Take a photograph of each student, or invite students to bring photos from home.

Directions

  1. Give each student a paper plate, a sheet of red construction paper and glue.
  2. Instruct students to tear off small pieces of red paper and glue them to the paper plate. Have students overlap the red paper to completely cover the surface of the plate.
  3. Provide each student with a stem and leaf. Prompt students to glue the stem and leaf to the top of the plate.
  4. Have students glue their photos onto their completed apples.
  5. Write students’ names on the leaves in black marker or crayon. Then display the apples on a bulletin board titled “Our Class is a Bushel of Good Apples!”
