Special Olympics Event Raises More Than $1.1 Million
Santa Monica, CA
A number of Lakeshore employees recently headed out to Pacific Park in Santa Monica to participate in Pier del Sol, an annual fund-raising event that supports Special Olympics Southern California. The day was an overwhelming success—with over 2,500 people attending. In fact, this was the most successful fund-raising event in the history of Special Olympics Southern California, raising more than $1.1 million!
This fun-filled gala took place right on the historic Santa Monica Pier—with spectacular food, games, rides and fun activities for the athletes, their families, sponsors and guests. As part of the festivities, cabanas at Pacific Park were turned into arts & crafts stations. Lakeshore donated materials for a variety of craft projects, and our employees ran the activity stations—helping the athletes and guests create personalized picture frames, tote bags, bracelets and other fun projects.
Proceeds from this event will support over 10,000 Southern California athletes, providing quality sports training and competition opportunities—and empowering participants to become active and respected members of the community. Lakeshore is so thankful that we had the opportunity to participate in this event, and we couldn’t be more proud of the many volunteers who donated their time and energy to make Pier del Sol such an incredible success.
