Lakeshore® to Unveil Cutting-Edge Learning Materials at
Annual NAEYC Conference in Anaheim
Educational Leader to Introduce New Classroom Technology, Spotlight Materials for Outdoor Learning and Display a Complete Model Classroom
CARSON, Calif.—(October 27, 2010)—Lakeshore, one of the nation’s leading developers of educational materials for the school and home, will be giving a preview of their new 2011 product line at this year’s annual NAEYC Conference at the Anaheim Convention Center on November 3–6, 2010.
Software for Interactive Whiteboards
Among the many new items they will be introducing at the conference, Lakeshore is most enthusiastic about showcasing their exclusive software for interactive whiteboards. “Our software demonstration at NAEYC is our launch into this growing market,” says Patti Rommel, Lakeshore’s director of research & development. “In 2011 alone, we will be introducing over 50 new preschool and elementary-level interactive whiteboard lessons for language, math, science and social studies. We invite everyone to stop by the Lakeshore booth for a variety of interactive whiteboard demonstrations. Educators will be amazed at how engaging and easy to use this software is. It truly adds another dimension to the learning experience.”
Promoting the Benefits of Outdoor Learning
While Lakeshore is looking ahead with their software development, they are also mindful of the need for keeping children connected to the natural world. “At the conference, our booth will feature a miniature outdoor classroom with a sandbox, real plants…even a picket fence,” says Bo Kaplan, Lakeshore’s president/CEO.
“One of our goals at this year’s conference is to promote the educational benefits of outdoor learning. The truth is that we have outdoor materials for every program—large or small. We’ll also be conducting tours of our nearby national headquarters…where administrators and educators will have the opportunity to visit the certified Nature Explore® Classroom that we’ve developed for our employees’ children,” says Kaplan.
The Lakeshore “Complete Classroom”
Lakeshore’s booth will also feature a model “complete classroom” for high-quality preschool environments. “As a full-service provider, Lakeshore is able to outfit entire classrooms—from carpets and furniture to learning centers and all of the materials that go in them. Our model classroom will even be furnished with Lakeshore’s top-quality Classic Birch and Round-Edge furniture lines,” says Rose Contreras, Lakeshore’s vice president of creative services. “We are particularly excited about these furniture lines because they’re GREENGUARD® certified,” Contreras continues. “This certification ensures that our furniture meets strict criteria for protecting the quality of indoor air. And with the NAEYC’s long history of child advocacy, there is truly no better venue for introducing these materials than their annual conference.” Planning to attend the NAEYC Conference?
