Lakeshore® Hosts In-Store Concerts
CARSON, Calif.—(February 5, 2011)—Pirates, cowboys and multilingual songs? They were all part of the show—Lakeshore’s live musical performances held right inside our stores!
The special guest at our Lake Oswego store in Oregon was award-winning songwriter Eric Ode! A popular author and poet, Ode is a former elementary school teacher who knows how to captivate children—and give a great performance! On Saturday, he had children and parents up on their feet dancing and singing along. Ode’s act included stories, skits, poetry and puppets—all of the things kids love! It was such a hit that we’re bringing him back on March 12 for our “All About Animals” event. We hope to see you there! To learn more about Ode or to purchase his CDs and books, visit his website at www.ericode.com.
At our Columbus store in Ohio, folk singer and poet Leslie Zak also gave a live performance. This was her second performance in our store—and it was just as much fun as the first. With award-winning songs like “If an Ostrich Can Yodel,” it’s easy to see why. Her spirited music was truly a multicultural celebration—with songs in many different languages from many different times. Best of all, the songs and stories were interactive, so children were allowed to join in. Zak also amazed everyone with her unique gift—she can sing in 16 languages! We hope to have her back to hear all 16! You can learn more about Zak and her music at www.lesliezak.com.
If you missed out on the fun, be sure to catch us next time!
