Take a walk through Lakeshore’s on-site preschool for employees’ children on any given day, and you’ll see children riding tricycles, exploring books, dressing up like mail carriers, working with blocks, creating artwork, and simply discovering the world around them. You’ll also see a dedicated group of teachers who carefully plan the daily curriculum, ensuring the proper social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development of each and every child who attends Kids & Company. Together, the teachers and children are laying the foundation for reading, writing, and logical thinking—skills that will carry over into the children’s elementary years and beyond. And they’re having fun doing it.
Serving children ages 6 weeks to 5 years old, Kids & Company provides a priceless benefit to Lakeshore employees, who are able to enjoy the convenience and peace of mind of knowing that their children are only a few steps away throughout the workday. At the same time, Lakeshore parents know that their children are getting an excellent preschool education that helps to prepare them for kindergarten. The school adheres to the highest educational standards and a top-notch curriculum designed to help children develop a positive sense of self, an ability to interact successfully with peers, and an enthusiastic interest in learning. As such, Kids & Company is proud to be a fully certified Nature Explore Classroom.
the classrooms…and beyond
Kids & Company features five incredible classrooms, each equipped with a variety of toys, books, and materials that are easily accessible to children. The toddler and preschool classrooms are organized into distinct interest areas, such as blocks, dramatic play, art, sensory exploration, table toys, music and movement, and library. Each week, the teachers plan daily activities around a theme, with the goal of developing specific skills within each age group. Weather permitting, the children also spend part of their day outdoors, engaging in active play, sand and water experiences, group games, and other age-appropriate activities.
