Critic’s Corner Jennifer Parks Philadelphia, PA To inspire my students to read more, I have created a “Critic’s Corner” in my classroom. I ask my students to read a book, then write a summary. Their summaries need to include whether they liked the book or not—and give the reasons for their opinion. Students also get to rate the book by giving it 0-5 stars. I post the finished reviews in the Critic’s Corner. The other students can then read the review and see what their classmates think of the book. This helps students find out about new titles and authors that they might not have thought of on their own. |
