This activity is appropriate for:
preschool & up / 3 years & up

You will need:

Star template
Construction Paper - 9" x 12" - Assorted Colors
Tissue Paper Squares
Pipe Stems (optional)
Wikki Stix Class Pack
Peel & Stick Flexible Foam Shapes
Easy-Stick Glitter Shapes
Best-Buy School Glue
Best-Buy Crayons or Broad-Tip Markers - Student Pack
Small photos of each student (optional)
Scissors

Directions

Print and cut out the star template. Have children color the stars.
Show children how to make a square box out of Wikki Stix and glue it onto the upper left corner of a piece of construction paper.
Have children glue the star template into the box. Invite them to add stars (or other shapes) from Flexible Foam Shapes or Glitter Shapes to the box for added decoration. (If desired, children can bring a small picture of themselves to glue inside the box.)
Encourage children to glue tissue paper squares in horizontal rows across the rest of the paper (outside of the box).
If desired, children can poke a pipe stem through the top of the flag to make a handle. (Younger children may need assistance poking the pipe stem through the paper.)
