Children will love to make this unique 3-D Valentine’s Day card!

This activity is appropriate for:
pre-k - 2nd grade / 4 - 7 years

You will need:

Handprint Template
Help-Yourself Glue Tubes
Safety Scissors
Sentence Strips
Construction Paper - 9" x 12" (red, pink & white)
Markers or crayons
Decorative stick-ons, glitter, or Regular Dot Art Painters - 6-Color Set

Directions

Have each child cut out two hands using the Handprint Template.
Glue one hand to each end of a sentence strip.
Cut valentine hearts out of construction paper in various colors.
Glue a heart in the middle of the sentence strip.
Inside the heart, write the verse below. (Children can also create their own rhyme, if desired.)
Have children sign their name on the sentence strip, then decorate the hearts using markers, crayons, stick-ons, glitter, or paint.
Fold the sentence strips into the middle, so that the hands appear to be holding the heart.
Your Valentine’s Day card is ready for delivery!

So I made this hug for you today!
This special hug, from me to you,
Will give you hugs all day through!
