Summer School of Fish

Splash into summer with these colorful, fun-to-make fish!
This activity is appropriate for:
pre-k - 3rd grade / 4 - 8 years
You will need:
- Fish template
- Superbright Tagboard - 9" x 12"
- Collage Beads, Collage Buttons, Acrylic Gemstones or other collage materials
- Tacky Glue
- Fiskars Classroom Scissors
- Fish poem
Before you begin:
- Photocopy the fish template for each student onto different colors of tagboard. (You may want to photocopy the template onto printer paper first, cutting out the copy and using it to trace the fish onto tagboard.) If you prefer, precut the fish for younger students.
- Photocopy the fish poem for each student.

Directions
- Give each student a tagboard fish sheet and ask students to cut out the fish. Provide students with a variety of collage materials and glue.
- Encourage students to decorate their fish with the colorful collage materials. Allow the glue to dry.
- Give each student a copy of the fish poem. Invite students to read the poem aloud with you (or repeat each line after you read it aloud). Then have students glue the poem to the back of their fish.
- Display the completed fish on a summer-themed bulletin board titled “Swim into Summer!” or “Make a Summer Splash!”
