Star-Studded Napkin Rings

These napkin rings will add the perfect touch of patriotism to any family’s Independence Day picnic!
This activity is appropriate for:
1st - 3rd grade / 6 - 8 years
You will need:
- Empty cardboard paper towel roll
- Star-Shaped Template
- Fun Foam Sheets (red, white or blue)
- Best-Buy School Glue or Lakeshore Glue Sticks
- Safety Scissors
- Brush-On Washable Painters - 6-Color Set (red or blue)
- Lakeshore Jumbo Glitter Painters - 12-Bottle Set
- Pen or pencil
Directions
- Help your child cut the paper towel roll into 4 equal sections to make 4 rings.
- Have your child paint the outside of the rings with red, white or blue paint, and set aside to dry.
- Place the Star-Shaped Template onto red, white or blue Fun Foam Sheets, and trace around the middle star with a pen or pencil. Repeat to make a total of 4 stars.
- Help your child cut the star shapes out of the Fun Foam Sheets.
- Encourage your child to use the colorful Jumbo Glitter Painters to decorate 1 side of each foam star.
- Finally, glue a foam star to the outside of each painted ring. Be sure to allow the glue to dry completely before using the napkin rings.
