Spring Wind Sock

Children welcome the breezy days of spring…with whimsical wind socks they make themselves!
This activity is appropriate for:
kindergarten - 3rd grade / 5 - 8 years
You will need:
- Construction Paper - 12" x 18"
- Safety Scissors
- Washable Broad-Tip Markers - Student Pack
- Best-Buy Crayons
- Art Tissue Paper
- Stapler
- Yarn
- Paper streamers
- Hole punch
Directions
- Invite children to pick out their favorite color of 12" x 18" construction paper and decorate it using colored markers, crayons, tissue paper and other collage materials.
- Roll the paper into a cylinder and staple it shut. Next, staple long strips of paper streamers around the bottom edge.
- Punch three holes around the top of the cylinder and tie a piece of yarn through each hole. Tie the three strands of yarn together.
- Encourage children to hang their wind socks outdoors—and watch them “fly”!
