This activity is appropriate for:
kindergarten - 3rd grade / 5 - 8 years

You will need:

Photo book reproducible
Washable Fine-Tip Markers - Class Pack or pencils
Lakeshore Glue Sticks
Photographs of your school

Preparation

Take pictures of your school. You will need the following images for your photo book:

Cover – school exterior
Page 2 – a close-up of the school name (marquee)
Page 3 – your classroom
Page 4 – you (the teacher)
Page 5 – the playground
Page 6 – the library
Page 7 – the school cafeteria
Page 8 – the school principal

Print copies for each student in your class. (To save money, you can print the photos on plain printer paper.)

Directions

Give students copies of the photos and the photo book reproducible.
Prompt students to glue the photos onto the pages of their photo book.
Help students complete the sentence beneath each photo.
Have students decorate the pages with markers or pencils. Then assemble and staple the pages to make a keepsake book. Encourage them to take their books home to show their families!
