Roll and Count
|
A super-simple game that reinforces number sense and quantity—while celebrating 100 days in school!
This activity is appropriate for:
kindergarten - 2nd grade / 5 - 7 years
You will need:
Directions
- Print a 100s chart for each child who will be doing the activity. If desired, you can laminate the charts for repeated use.
- Give each child a chart and one die or number cube.
- Have children take turns rolling a number, then coloring that number of squares on their chart. For example, if a child rolls a 5 on her first turn, she would color in the first 5 squares on her chart. If she rolls a 3 on her next roll, she would color in the next 3 squares, and so on.
- The first child to color in all 100 squares on his chart wins the game!
(Note: You can play a faster version of the game by giving each child her own die, then having them roll and race to see who can color in 100 spaces the fastest.)
