Students will enjoy celebrating Presidents’ Day with this patriotic project!

This activity is appropriate for:
pre-k - 2nd grade / 4 - 7 years

You will need:

Directions

Photocopy the George Washington Puppet template and poem reproducible onto construction paper.
Provide each student with a copy of the puppet template and a craft stick. Have students color and cut out the puppet. Then instruct them to glue a craft stick to the back.
Give each student a copy of the poem reproducible. Have students color the picture and cut a horizontal slit along the dashed line.
Have students slide the end of the craft stick through the slit. Show them how to hold the craft stick and move the puppet as if he is making a speech!
Invite students to read the poem aloud with you.
